How Heritage Coffee Roasters Got Started

Inspired to live a more self-reliant life upon moving to our 22-acre homestead (aside from gardening, raising chickens, and making soap), we started to consider additional ways to diversify the use of our time, resources and capabilities.

In October 2021, we started roasting our own coffee in the comfort of our home with a Whirley Popper and an electric "drum-like" home roaster.

A year later, in November 2022, we were afforded the opportunity to co-op roast at our local coffee shop and we've been perfecting our roasts ever since.

By August 2023, we had a studio built out with a small roasting room to install our own commercial-grade air-roaster, which allowed us to add more coffee offerings, as well as build our brand + presence in our local SW Missouri communities.
